Vacation House TradeHi, You are on this page because I invited you here. No one can get here unless I've given them a specific link. This page is not for the public. We are in a unique position to trade on either a simultaneous or non-simultaneous basis. Also, we have multiple locations you can go to in a vacation trade. However, they are always changing with new ones being added and old ones being used or expiring. Trying to list them on an home exchange website would be difficult to maintain and limit the number of locations and vacations we can provide. You have a house you would like to trade for vacation purposes. I would be interested in trading for it. However, I trade a different way than you may have seen in the past. I have many timeshares around the world through the timeshare donation program we run on this web site. Details of the resorts are given in the links provided. It does not include a car, but most of them are 1 to 2 bedrooms for a specific week of the year. Rarely can it be traded for a larger unit on a different week. If so, the resort has to be asked and there is usually an added fee. The easiest would be to use what is available. What I propose is that we trade. If it is a simultaneous trade, good. If it is a non-simultaneous trade, you use the vacation at the resort in the area you want to visit BEFORE I use yours. That way you know you've gotten the trade on your side completed before I visit your property. Then I will call or e-mail you to use yours. For your use, I will send you a copy of the reservation letter from the resort, a letter authorizing you to use the timeshare during that period, and instructions on how to answer a few questions that may come up. You will be able to contact the resort to confirm everything I've sent. I know this sounds strange. Let me explain why. I'm a retired doctor who travels a lot. One of the ways I travel is as a courier for a couple of companies. I transport contracts, films, medical supplies, even bone marrow for transplants sometimes. The companies pay my airfare, give me a few hundred dollars and let me keep all the frequent flyer miles. That lets me visit places and plan more trips on my own time. The problem is that they call and give me between 1 hour to 2 days advance notice. I have a bag packed and I'm ready to leave immediately if I need to. I want to trade in advance for locations I may be asked to visit sometime in the next 24 months. If I'm asked to go to your area, I'd contact you and ask if I can stay there for the dates I will be there - up to one week. If I can, wonderful! If only part of the time is available, that's OK. If I can't, I'd like a chance to use it some other time. If I don't use it in the 24 months, I give up the right to ask you and you have no commitment any more. I look at this the same way I look at using the timeshares we have. Most of them will not be used, but it's nice to know it's available if I can use it. Sometimes have my sister and/or mother travel with me. I am orderly and organized. I believe in treating other people's things with respect. I do not make or leave messes. If a car is available I'd appreciate it greatly. I'm a very good driver and have not had an accident or ticket in almost 20 years. If what you have to trade is the house you normally live in, I can still trade with you if you would be willing to have me as a guest for my vacation time. I would ask for a private bedroom and bathroom privileges. As I pointed out earlier. You are protected because you get to use my location before I ever use yours and if I don't use yours within 24 months, I never will ask thereafter.
